IT’S FRIDAY NIGHT AND I’M NOT POPULAR — A FIELD REPORT
Friday, 11:02 PM. Issue #08.
Current status report from the not2popular headquarters (my bedroom desk):
☕ Coffee count: 2. One cold. One colder.
💡 Tab count: 17 open. 0 of them useful.
🧠 Brain: Currently buffering.
🎧 Listening to: The fridge humming. Very lo-fi.
WHAT HAPPENED TODAY:
Woke up thinking I was going to be productive. You know, “new me” energy. Made a to-do list. Immediately got overwhelmed by my own to-do list.
Did the thing where I open Instagram, close it, open it again 3 minutes later like something new happened. Nothing new happened. It’s just people on vacation.
Tried to write something profound. Wrote “idk” for 20 minutes instead. Honest work.
Then I remembered why I started not2popular.com in the first place: Not every thought needs to go viral. Some thoughts just need to exist somewhere that isn’t my head.
So here it is. Today’s unpopular thought:
You don’t have to be “that girl.” You can just be… the girl who forgets to water her plants but remembers every lyric from 2014.
No one is keeping score as hard as you think. The algorithm is not watching you that closely. I promise.
TODAY’S SMALL WINS (because we count those here):
- Didn’t reply to a text immediately out of guilt. Waited. The world didn’t end.
- Made my bed. 40% of it.
- Wrote this post instead of doomscrolling for another hour.
Note to self (and you, if you’re reading this):
Post raw. No edits. Just truth.
If 2 people read this, that’s enough circulation for me.
See you tomorrow? Or maybe Sunday. I don’t have a posting schedule. That’s very on-brand.
